How to watch tv in laptop tv tuner

Must have watched ranbir with a remote control in a promo switching instantly between tv and pc. Yes!it looks nice but you can actually achieve it by assembling...wait!...dont leave as soon as you read that you have to Do it yourself :P...it very very easy to do by yourself...only few wires and my instructions thats it...your movie tv ready within 10 mins!!!

First have look on the diagram...look it closely as all the connectivty is shown...

Lets first list the things you have to cash out..

1.A LCD/TFT/LED monitor!( reader imp:this is so obvious!...why d hell you are mentioniing it :P)
2.A CPU with vga out and audio out (3.5 mm).)
3.A set top box (dth service provider will provide one like airtel)
4.RCA to 3.5mm jack,RCA to svideo jack,both end male audio+video jack
(each will cost 20rs max) 5.A external tv tuner card(i have a frontech tv box-1400rs)
buy on flipkart
6.VGA switch box.
(rs 350 a local product)buy from ebay
7.A speaker with 3.5 jack.
8.To extra vga cable (rs 200 each).

Compare this list with the image above for more clarification.

NB:The actual value may vary slighly by 10-50 rs not much.This price estimates are in INR ,any vistors to this post not in INR curreny need to look up amazon or ebay for pricelist. Now the Steps

The best way to do this is to follow the image above and read through the document one by one

1.Take the switch box in the i/o connection connet the vga cable coming from your monitor.
2.From A of the VGA box take another similar VGA cable and connet to the cpu vga connection.
3.From B of the VGA box take another VGA cable connect to the frontech tv box.
4.Now connect the two way female (marked 1 in the figure) one end to set top box and other end leave the wires out.
5.Now the three hanging wires are white,red and yellow,grab white and red and connet with rca to 3.5(label 3 in the image) and now grab the yello one connect with rca to S video (marked as 4 in the video).
6.connect the other end of the yellow wire which is having a extension of rca to s video to frontech rear svideo in (marked 5 in the picture)
7.Thats it,turn everthing on and test the VGA switch,press A to see computer or press B to see Tv.
8.Lastly for audio you have to do a little bit of manual work ,take the 3.5 mm audio jack connect to the back of your computer and connect to 3.5 mm extension of the red and white set top box wires(setup marked 3 in the image) to listen to your tv ,again at anytime revert the 3.5 speaker jack back to computer ,to get computer sound.
